High School Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish)

• Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Foreign Language Teacher to join our faculty beginning in the fall of 2024. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language education, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students to develop proficiency and cultural appreciation in their chosen language. The ideal candidate will be multi-certified in Spanish and one additional language other than English.
• Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to participate actively in language learning.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology to enhance language acquisition and cultural understanding.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate language learning across disciplines and promote cross-cultural understanding.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning community.
• Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Master’s degree preferred.
  • PA State certification or licensure in Foreign Language Education (Spanish at minimum)
  • Proficiency in the target language(s) of instruction, with a strong understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural nuances.
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in language education.
